How to convert the xls files to dbf files to make them can be used as the SWAT input

1.     Because the Field of the date can’t be named as DATE (Arcgis reserved characters).  Thus, we must use the existed file. But if the rows of our data is longer than the existed file, how can we add more rows. The method is the tools in the ARCGIS, i.e., ‘append‘. We use one file as the input file and another as the object file. Then we can get the object file with added rows existed in the input file.

2.     Then, we should join the object file with added xls file (the xls file must be exported to dbf file, then it can be used for join.

3.     Then, we will use field calculator to calculate the DATE and PCP or other fields such as WND, HMD.

4.     Finally, make the table be in editable conditions (start editor) and deleted the rows that are not needed.
